The new Era

As some of you have noticed my sidecar racing era is over, everthing is cleared out to another happy swedish driver.motofoto-semog1

And this is the new toy what needs some hammering. Its Crosskart Xtreme, and its a new class in Sweden. The cart is a Semog with a Kawasaki 600cc engine. We drive it on rallycross tracks with  tarmac and gravel mixed. Its a completly new game, you need to go sideways all the time cause it dont have a diff. Great fun, more later

Back on track

Its been a long winter and a lot of work, but finally we are back on track.
Since Aki was eager to get back racing he started the season with Barry James, then jumped on with Andy Peach and now onboard with Roger Lowelock for the rest of the year.
So back in the chair is Peter Wall. Last time we race together was at Spa in 2011.
First race of the year was the FIM world championship at Oschersleben in Germany on the 16- 18 August. We qualified 9th out of 22 bikes.
On Saturday we had a Sprintrace where we managed 10th.
In the longer Goldrace what was red flagged due to rain and then restarted we made a small mistake under braking on the back straight and came very deep into the corner.
Never of the track but we lost contact with the group we where riding in. Ended up in 12th.

We had a really nice weekend and not a to bad running considering being out of the bike for 10 month. Next we will be heading for Donington on the 6-8 September.

Saturday @ Brands Hatch

The final two races of the year today. In race 1 we where involved in some banging fairings and had to go over the grass at druids on the first lap. Back on track we where almost last and started hunting trough the fieldand managed P9.
Second race better but it was shortend by a red flag with 4laps to go, by then we where in P8.
We come at P6 in the championship
Now we only have a long drive back home.

Final @ Brands Hatch GP

This season is coming to and end this weekend at Brands Hatch. We have both races on Saturday and both of the has double points.
During Friday free practice we tested a new suspension setup. I didn’t worked as hoped so for Q1 we returned to known setup and it payed of. We manage to improve our personal best from July with 0.8sec still being on old tires. Its close in the top and our time was only good for P10, one sec of and it would been p3.
Race one just after lunch tomorrow.

Silverstone Sunday

Another useless start made todays race a hard one. And with a slug engine the overtaking was close to paintswapping. We do have a plan how to cure the starts for Brands Hatch finals. We did drop to 7th overall, but final has 2 races with double points so alot can happen there.

Qualifying and Race1

Got P7 in Q1 and didn’t manage to gain any positions , first due to a rubbish start and then stuck behind Bygrave for half the race. Then we did pass him we got in to a better rythm , just one small bad exit onto hangarstraight and newly crowned worldchamp Reeves/Hawes  passed us. We did stayed with em and almost took em back.
Nice last part of the race and we improved 2.5 sec from Q1, just 1.6 of from new laprecord. Hope it stays dry for tomorrow.

Assen race 1

After a good qualifying in fourth we had good hopes for the Saturday race, but first it was delayed, then red flagged for a crash and then in the second half we crashed.
We are both ok and the bike only has smaller damage and we will have revenge today.
